LYMPHOMA FOUNDATION OF AMERICA BRIEFS U.S. SENATE CANCER COALITION ON PESTICIDES ISSUE
On June 5th, the U.S. Senate Cancer Coalition (chaired by Honorable Dianne Feinstein of California) held a hearing on cancer hot spots and clusters. During the hearing, Senator Feinstein held up maps provided by the Lymphoma Foundation of America. She asked all witnesses to comment on the similarity between patterns of water contamination with herbicides and patterns of mortality from non-Hodgkins lymphoma. All the witnesses stated that this issue is significant and deserves further study. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York and Senator Sam Brownback of Kansas also attended the hearing and requested briefing and further materials.
