CANADIAN DOCTORS RECOMMEND PESTICIDE AVOIDANCE
The Ontario College of Family Physicians (OCFP),
representing a large number of practicing doctors, has released an extensive
report about the adverse health effects of pesticides.
The report, which can be viewed at this
link, details scientific and medical
information about health problems caused by pesticide exposures.
Their section on non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma includes many of the same
studies reviewed in Lymphoma Foundation of America’s Pesticides Research
Report.
Besides
lymphoma, pesticides are linked to leukemia, solid tumors, severe reproductive
problems, neurologic and mental health effects, and skin disorders.
As a result of their review of the dangers of pesticides, the OCFP
supports laws banning their use, and urges individuals to avoid all pesticides
as much as possible. OCFP further urges physicians to discuss pesticide risks
with all of their patients.
